Mother Nature has not been on racing's side this summer. The Granite State Mini Sprint Club is almost half way into its season and it has yet to complete a full night of racing due to many rain outs. The club is hoping to get a full night of racing in this Sunday at Legion Speedway in Rumney, NH.
Lacey has been racing the 007 Mini Stock at Devil's Bowl Speedway the past few Fridays. The car was involved in a wreck a couple weeks ago that ended it's night and the night of many other cars on the 2nd lap of the feature. This past weekend, the 007 suffered a flat tire early in the race but the crew was able to get it changed and Lacey finished the race; coming home in 6th place. The Mini Stocks will be back in action this Friday night (6/28). The Sprint Cars of New England have also been haunted by the rain this summer. They were able to get a race in last Saturday night at Bear Ridge Speedway. Lacey had a career high 2nd place finish. She was able to lead the race for many laps before veteran driver Dan Douville passed her on the outside for the lead. Congratulations to Dan Douville on the win and to Chris Donnelly who finished 3rd. It was a great race and the #33 team was very excited with the 2nd place finish. Stephen Hutchinson in the #13 sprint car continues to have a great rookie season, finishing the 25 lap feature unscathed while gaining a lot of experience and having a lot of fun. Lacey and Steve will both be headed to Canaan Dirt Speedway on Wednesday July 3rd for SCoNE's special mid-week 4th of July show. Results to be posted next week. See you at the races! Our apologies for not updating the website in the past few weeks. The Sprint Cars of New England had their second race of the season at Canaan Dirt Speedway on June 3rd, 2011. The 33 race team was looking for a good finish to redeam themselves from the wreck the first race of the season. Lacey had a great run in the heat race, leading for a few lap but ending up finishing 3rd. That put the #33 starting 3rd in the feature. 18 sprint cars took to the track for the feature. It was a fast and exciting race. Exactly what the Sprint Cars of New England are known for. In the end, the #33 finished in the 6th spot. A great finish for the #33 team. The car made contact with the turn four wall during the feature resulting in a flip. Lacey was uninjured but the car received quite a bit of damage.
The crew has been busy tearing the car apart and is in the process of ordering parts and getting it back together for the next race. Top 3: 1: 7x Dan Douville 2: 58 Clay Dow 3: 03 Dalton Varney To see full results and photos from the first race please visit www.nesprintcars.com and mrmac.smugmug.com Third and Final Night of the Triple Crown Weekend
I was headed out for practice and we realized that the hit from Saturday night had bent our rear axle so we scatched for the night. Si Allen offered up the #30 car for the night so I drove that in the heat and feature. Thank you Si and Mark for letting me drive the #30. It was great to be able to race Sunday night and I had a blast out there. Feature Finishing Order:
